GAY BASHING, HEALTHCARE CRISIS, EQUALITY FOR ALL & THE ECONOMY IS STILL SUFFERING....

So we begin this edition of In My Opinion with the question of everyone's mind ... Are we still gay-bashing and NOT thinking that we're gonna get caught!?? Seriously... Times have changed! With the recent images + videos of the publicly gay bashing of 49 year old Jack Price one is for sure, we are no longer standing alone in this fight but we must continue to win the war!! In a case that has most certainly rocked the borough of Queens, NY and opened the eyes of most who turned a side-eye -- We can safely report that the 2 idiots are under-arrest and currently being criminally charge (as a hate-crime) and we hope that they are the first of many to come.

Earlier this weekend, I attended the rally for Jack Price in Queens, NY and I must say there was an amazing turn out minus the lack of supporters from people within our (Black LGBT) community (For those that get where I'm coming from.) -- When are some people going to realize that we have to stand together and unite as one in order to prevail and bring some peace to this on-going violence in our community .... Period! (Sighs*) It just frustrates me... Completely. One thing that everyone who spoke stated was that "This is not the end, the fight continues"... Amen!

In attendance was various political figures including Openly Gay Speaker Christine Quinn, Councilman Anthony Wiener, State Comptroller Bill Thompson and others... The list goes on.

Now, let's move on to something that has been irking me for the past several weeks (and I am sure that I am not alone) let's say it together ... UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE people!! I am a strong believer that this will help reform and give the country we all need insurance for all!1 Don't get me wrong I have my worries about the billions of dollars that this will cost but either way we losing some in order to gain and this is the most cost-effective way so President Obama says.... Agree? All together now.. "Yes!" or not.. -- Frankly, I feel that people (By people I mean those damn conservatives.) needs to leard how to accept changes and better for the good.. You can't always have your way!! ---> Gee whiz!

For those of you have attended the Equality March + it's festivities this past weekend we salute you and will continue to support the cause and fight for what we all deserve not just as openly-gay americans but as human beings! I am learning that in life nothing will happen unless you take the initiative to make it happen and that's what we need ... People who are ready to make a change for our community and I vow to continue to lead the way and fight effortlessly -- Will you? Too many people want to make change but no one want to put in the damn effort. (No punt tended.) Actually, there is .. you figure it out! I am sick and tired of hearing the complaints and not seeing any action!! You people know who the hell you are .. you fake ass celebs -- No longer will I hold my tongue and ocntinue to support your hipocracy .. Nope, not any more. I hope that this speaks for itself and starts a revolution of followers whose ready to lead for a cause.

As we begin to grow the economy back, we have to understand that it's not going to happen overnight or tomorrow-- Can we just learn on how to be patient? (Hello people? Patience is a virtue.. believe it.) We have to realize that due to that damn greed having, republican duesche bags via BUSH ADMINISTRATION + HIS ALLIES/SUPPORTERS we are in this trillion dollar deficit nationwide!! Us as Americans need to continue to support the Obam Administration and their fight to bring this economy back on track so we can start functioning properly again... Ya feel me? Yea, sure you do. ---> I mean, this is the greatest country in the world. It just sucks that we have to share it with pinheads like Bush, Cheney, + other nameless jerks ... Im just saying...

The borough of Queens have produced many talented and legendary recording artists including Run DMC, Salt-N-Pepa, Kwame, and Onyx, and R&B/Pop/Hip-Hop group
Concrete City plans on keeping Queens on the musical map with their talent, music and professionalism. Consisting of rapper Ace and singer Suave, the duo has been best friends since childhood which I noticed when they called to confirm our interview.We spoke about their friendship, career and the importance of not being placed in a musical box and staying on top of their business.

DA-Professor: How did you get involved with music?

Ace: When we were younger, we had a lot of different types of music we listened to, so I found out he sang, and he found out I rapped and we formed together and figured we can do it ourselves.

DA-Professor: Who are your influences?

Ace: Big L, Beyonce (all laugh) Usher.

Suave: Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder.

Da-Professor: You like some classic soul and old school music.

Suave: Yeah. I like a lot of old school music.

Da-Professor: How did you come up with the group’s name and what does the name represent?

Ace: We got the concrete part because we’ve been best friends since we were little, so if you was to go somewhere and they would see me alone, they would way where’s Suave at? And vice-versa. So we came up with the name Concrete because we have a tight bond together.

Suave: That came from the fact that we’re from New York and we always see the billboards and every time we see it, we’re like ‘we want to be up there one day. We came up with the city part basically we’re from. We basically put the two together.

Da-Professor: I listened to your music and I notice that you don’t have the typical computerized beats. It has a live sound. What made you decide to do that instead of looping?

Ace: We like the live sound of real pianos, organs, drums, violins. (We like to) think out of the box.

Suave: We don’t like to put barriers on ourselves as far as considering us as Hip-Hop and R&B cause we do all types of music as well. A lot of times, we refer to ourselves as a Pop/Hip-Hop group.

Da-Professor: You made an interesting point. It seems that white artists can do R&B and Hip-Hop and be accepted, but when Blacks and Latinos add other genres like Pop and Rock to their music, they sometimes find it hard to be accepted by the media and Black audience. How do you feel about that?

Ace: As for at the Black race, I just think there’s a certain way you have to go about doing it and the certain kind of music you have to make a certain type of determination you have to have with that market. When a white person tries to enter Hip-Hop, a lot of people say that he’s trying to be Black when its just not that; you have to work harder to get into that market.

Da-Professor: You recently performed at LaGuardia Community College. How was that performance?

Ace: It was a good show.

Suave: We had a very good response from the audience. They really took to our performance. They really like the songs. We had people come up to us after the show and shook hands.

Da-Professor: Your song “Best Friend” is hot and I can tell it’s one of our favorites. What was the inspiration for that song?

(We all laugh)

Ace: From personal experience.

Suave: I think everybody can relate to it. Everybody been in a relationship or a situation where they had a partner and they met that person. Partner. Friend.

Ace: Best friend.

Suave: Friend. Cousin. Whoever it may be.

Suave: and like why didn’t I meet that person first? (Both laugh).

Da-Professor: Another song I like is “So Confused” which deals with bad relationships and domestic violence. How important is it for you to discuss these topics?

Suave: It’s funny you asked that. “So Confused” is one of those songs you put in the Pop category and also with that song, we came up with that song before the whole Chris Brown/Rhianna situation. Even with that being said, it’s funny how that song relates to that topic. That song also talks about domestic abuse in relationships.

Da-Professor: When it comes to domestic violence, we hear about the females getting abuse they have sympathy for them, but when you hear stories about males getting abuse, they brush it off. How do you feel about that?

Ace: Well as far as the brushing off, I think that certain type of guys have a certain amount of pride so they’re not gonna break that pride. They’re not gonna say anything.

Suave: It does exist.

Ace: It does exist.

Da-Professor: In addition to music, what else do you do?

Suave: Model. Act. In our performances, we dance.

Ace: We write all of our songs and produce all of our songs.

Da-Professor: That’s interesting. What made you decide to take control of your music?

Ace: We like having a lot of hands on with our project.

Suave: We like knowing what’s being done.

Ace: Even with management. It’s the same thing. We can have a thousand people putting out posters, but at the end of the day, we’re gonna be out there putting up posters too.

Da-Professor: You’re from the borough where acts like Run D.M.C., Jam Master Jay and Onyx. How does it feel being born and raised in this borough and how you’re gonna add to the legacy of Queens musicians?

Ace: I feel blessed to be mentioned in the same town as these people.

Suave: (And) everyone you named, we listened to all of them and you will hear influences from those people in the music.

Da-Professor:My final questions is -- It seems to me that artists who are talented and business-minded intimidate people. How do you guys feel about that?

Ace: As long as you know what you’re doing and you know everything about what you doing, then you’ll always be a step ahead of the competition.

Suave: You always gotta make yourself knowledgeable of what you’re trying to pursue.

Ace As well as being the artist.

Suave: Exactly.

The city of Philadelphia is known for producing many talented singers, and R&B/Hip-Hop singer/songwriter Khalif is keeping the city of brotherly love on the musical map with his smooth and powerful vocals, and his talented songwriting skills, which is clearly demonstrated on his current single “Stop Calling Me” which is destined to be a hit on radio. The single tells a story about a female who didn’t show him the time of day when he struggling to become a success, but now is trying to holla at him because he has notoriety and has money coming in, and he’s letting her know that she had her chance, but she blew it and needs to stop calling him. (Sounds like the answer to Destiny’s Child 1999 hit “Bug A Boo). -- What makes this single are the beats, keyboard performance, his ability to sing lead and harmonize, the call and response between him and the background vocalists during the second verse and bridge and the deep yet creative lyrics.

It's very rare that we get to see a brother with unique skills and actually have the guts be an original in this competitive industry. Khalif is definitely an artist that you can expect to see years to come with his talented vocal arrangements & sex appeal .. I think the he gonna be appealed to the masses. Not only is he a experimentalist he represents what the industry is missing in my eyes "Soul"!

With his tracks " Can't Tell Me" "Crazy Love" he talks about his love for his women although he wants to leave and is stuck with the desicion of letting her go.

He is unique, gifted, talented, & to some he is known as B.dot - I call him the Renaissance Man... He is Baron. I recently had the opportunity to sit down with him and catch on some good times, highlights of his career thus far & what's ahead for this multi-award winning artist we know and love.

SR Magazine: Hey Baron, it's been a while since we last spoke. How's everything coming along?

Everything is going great actually. Busy but good busy. You know how it is.

SR Magazine: Now, it's no question that you are definitely a fan favorite here @ the SR Magazine. Your hit single "Party with B" was one of our featured songs of the month! How does that make you feel, when you hear how much you're loved & appreciated?

Thank you so much man. Glad to have your support and all. Knowing that I have people like you in my corner keeps me doing what I do. As an artist I never know if what I do will translate, so knowing that I have folks with me is great and I take none of it for granted. So as much as I am appreciated, I appreciate you.

SR Magazine: You are what I like to consider a true artist -- Staying true to your fans & your music without getting caught up in this cut throat industry. Would you say that you consider yourself a rebel? To be going against the traditional artistry approach?

I’d like to say that I’m bold as hell. (laughs) We all know how the industry is always looking for the next “this” or “that”. When creating my music I stayed true to who I am. I know what a hip-hop album sounds like. I know what a rock/electronic album sounds like. But none of it sounded like me. So I was like, let me do my music. Let me be honest and see how that works. I think it made for a much more interesting journey and product.

I wouldn’t call my self a rebel though, because I think we’re at a place in music where there are a lot of artists showing their own styles. I’d like to say that I am apart of that movement.

SR Magazine: How do you get your start into the industry? I understand that you were a spoken word artist prior becoming "baron" the artist, how did that come about?

Yeah, I started out performing as a spokenword artist in Newark, NJ. Then eventually moved to Brooklyn and performed a lot at the Nuyorican Poets Café. That place is electric. I think being a poet was the best training I’ve ever had as a performer. I learned how to connect with audiences. It showed me how powerful words are and that people really get you when you allow yourself to get connected. I think sometimes with music there are distractions but with spokenword behind me I’ve learned how to navigate both.

SR Magazine: So you had a huge career highlight at the end of 2008, where you won for Best Alternative Artist at the Velocity Magazine Awards in D.C following the release of you sophomore album entitled “Celebrity” -- Which is phenomenal by the way! How did that feel? What is a surreal moment for you being up on that stage?

The entire Velocity Magazine Award experience is one I would never forget. First, I was just happy to be performing and the venue looked amazing. But when he called my name, it felt Crazy! I was like, “are you serious” and then I instantly started to get anxiety. Like now I really have to work this song out. It felt great and I’m wishing for many more awards. (laughs)

SR Magazine: Where did you get the idea to come up with the concept of the album, because it definitely speaks to you from beginning to end. Is this more of a personal album?

Yes! I settled on the title “Celebrity” before I collected the songs, though. I had to trick myself because on the first album I went through so many names before I picked “Troubled Man”. “Celebrity” initially was chosen because I wanted to reach more people and I knew I was shedding spokenword and focusing more on lyrics. But as the project started forming and the songs developed, I realized how accessible “I” became on the project. I talk about relationships, overcoming obstacles, forgiveness, sexuality; things I’ve never talked about before especially when it related to my own life.

SR Magazine: Who are some of your greatest inspirations musically?

This is such a hard question, so I’ll give you the short list. I’m inspired by Santigold, Blondie, Goldfrapp, Kanye West, Mobb Deep, Madonna, Sir Ben Marx, Queen GodIs, Prince, Janet, Erykah Badu, Britney Spears, Garbage, Aretha Franklyn, Notorious B.I.G. It’s a crazy list, I’ll stop there.

SR Magazine: So you just finished filming your new video for your current single "Party with B" can you give us any spoilers of the video?

(Laughs) I can’t give you any spoilers except it’s going to be b.dot certified. We’ve put a lot into it and it’s pure creativity. I get a lot of questions, about why “Party with b.” was chosen instead of “Feel Like Fashion”. And trust me, I thought long and hard about what song I wanted to make the first video and even up until the day of the shoot I had my doubts. But I’ve always been one to follow my gut, and when I walked on set and saw the set-up, the cameras, and the people, I realized I made the right choice. SR Magazine: Rumor has it that there is a new tour in the works? Please fill us in!

Correct! It will be a mini-tour this summer to support “Celebrity” hopefully to get buzz so that I can take the show overseas. My fingers are crossed. Dates and location will be posted on www.artistbaron.com.

SR Magazine: Great, well I can't wait to get front row seats and watch you blow everyone away with you talent! I wanna finish off by asking how do you feel about the representation of the LBGT Community? -- Being that you have been actively at the gay functions. Do you feel that it's going in the right direction & what advice can you give the young aspiring artists of today?

Wow this is loaded but I’m a try and do my best. As far as the LGBT community, I feel that we are in a renaissance. It is a crucial time politically, socially, musically. Organizations like Out Music is a shear example. I believe that being in a society where my 13 year-old cousin can support me publicly, shows a change in culture. A new thinking approaches, but it’s always the older generation holding on to old beliefs that keeps the tension going. I pray for the day when there is no need for the letters LBGT and we all just be who we are.

My advice to younger performers is to be true to your art, experiment, and perfect. I always say that if you are going to do something, “Do it like you are the first black person in an all white school”. With those odds, you really can’t afford to be lazy.

Moving along...Does anyone still cares about this whole Chris Brown & Rhi-Rhi situation!!?? Apparently so, because they are still getting press for no apparent reason. #4. CHRIS BROWN & RHI-RHI MAKING THE HEADLINES ONCE MORE.... BUT THIS TIME IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK? ... GET INTO THIS STORY.

To make a long story short on the ever-going saga, just when we thought is was over -- Guess again. Apparently Chris Brown's lawyers are seeking evidence from the LAPD in regards to finding the main source of the leaked photos .. You know the one with Rhi-Rhi got her faced rocked... So late! The question i have for them is why now? And who cares? .. Let's move on to more interesting news.

So Rihanna recently scheduled comeback performance - Her first since the showdown. Come to find out she canceled last minute!? Wow. I mean seriously what's going with you two? Canceling tours, more damaging news surfacing, + rumor has that Chris is lacking of motivation due to all this trauma. OK, I understand & can sympathize with him feeling that way but, dude you gotta get it together... THE WORLD IS WATCHING YOUR EVERY MOVE.

As we finally lay this sad story to rest we can only wish them the best. Rhi-Rhi is scheduling to release a new album & Chris is tweaking his new album. I am excited to see what they come out with.. Hopefully it's nothing like some artists who do the same ol' boring material over & over ... No names... Fill in the blanks, let's leave it at that.

Well it's no surprise that her tour isn't going as planned. With crazed fans coming on stage to a piece of her hair [Extensions.] getting ripped of during a wild performance... what else can go wrong for Brit-Brit?

Don't get me wrong i am ahuge fan of Ms. Spears she is definitely doing her thing and knows how to always re-invent herself time after time. Personally, "Circus" is one of my favorite tracks on her new album ---> Need i say more? OK, enough kissing ass... The point i am trying to make is that her tour is definitely going down in the books as one of the tours of shame.. They need to get it together.

The incident scared the hell out of her & her dancers, i mean why wouldn't it? If i had some drunk 20 year old running on stage out of no where looking to dance with me...Eww. Let me do my damn job! [The exclusive video can be found on TMZ official website.]

#2. THE MTA FINALLY GETS THEIR DAMN BAILOUT MONEY + STILL RAISE PRICES?? WTF, SOMETHING GOTTA GIVE.

So they get their bailout money and still raise the fare. That's how much these damn billionaires over there at MTA care about there 3+ million riders, who rides the train + bus everyday! I personally feel that there should be something done about this. We are bailing out everyone and anything. Soon we are going to use the federal stimulus package funds to bail out our family memeber in jail! ---> What else is next?

The transit-funding package will generate some $2.3 billion annually for the cash-strapped Metropolitan Transportation Authority with a payroll tax and other revenue-raising measures - including a 50-cent surcharge on all yellow-cab rides. An unlimited monthly MetroCard for subways and buses now is expected to increase from $81 to $89, not to the $103 the agency had approved before the bailout + the one-way cash fare is expected to go from $2 to $2.25, not to $2.50.

If it was up to me i wouldn't give them anything let them go bankrupt like everyone else... I know that the MTA is the largest transit system in the world & blah, blah, blah.. But let's hop that there wont be anymore of these shannanigans. ---> Who am I kidding?

NBC NEED A BAILOUT? --> READ ON.

Fourth-place broadcast network NBC will essentially be bailed out by the federal government when it receives $2 billion in cash from the stimulus package, according to reports, and will use some of that money to relaunch failed reality series.

WOW. WE ARE DEFINITELY IN A RECESSION.

In the most unsuprising Amreican Idol news since we found out that Fantasia couldn't read -- Paula Abdul is addicted to drugs [Painkillers.] The TRUTH shall set you free!

BREAKING NEWS: Just 2 weeks ago in a recent interview [ABC.] Paula stated "I've never been addicted to any prescription drugs!" ---> REALLY PAULA? GIMME A BREAK!

"I BELIEVE THAT SHE WAS ON DRUGS & HAS BEEN FOR QUITE SOMETIME. I FIND IT FUNNY THAT SHE IS TRYING TO COVER UP FROM THAT BEING THE ANSWER TO HER CRAZY ANTICS ON INTERVIEWS + ON AMERICAN IDOL." - EJP

She later then went on to say that any drug accusations "Bullshit" and has never been on any recreational drugs. [Can anyone say ---> Psycho.] We then later find out that for the first time in 12 years she is no longer dependent on medication. Event though the medication was estimated to be 80 times stronger than the normal dose.... But yet she still survived.

Only time will tell if he can stay strong and actually completely off the meds... What do you think? - EJP.

Personally, i feel that it is about damn time that we have someone who can enforce this to legislation and finally make it legal. For years [Since 1994.] Patterson has been an advocate for same sex marriage and being the state's first governor he surely drew a strong connnection between the fight for martial rights + the abolition movement -- Call him whatever you want but i am all for this movement in making same-sex marriage legal for once and for all!!

I don't about you, but the fact that we have Mayor Bloomberg, Council Women Christine Quinn, & various other Lawmakers supporting this movement, all i have to say is ---> You GOT MY VOTE.

When asked about the potential of clashing with the new archbishop and facing an opposition movement led by Dolan, Paterson (also a Catholic) said; "I didn’t know that he was inviting Christ’s army, because I thought I was a member of it — and I’m in favor of gay marriage.” ----> You tell'em Governor Patterson!

We can't no longer allow these politicians hold our fate in their hands! In order for us to get the rights that we deserve we gotta fight for it. Now, no one said that it's going to be easy but god willing I want to be able to look back and tell my kids that i fought in what i believed in and that's anything is possible when you put your all into it.

Episode #3: I'm ready & more focused than ever to make my comeback... Although i never left.

So here i am, writing another episode to you all and expressing it all to you with no hesitations. Some people may find that crazy, some may find it very noble - I just define it as me being me. For years i have alawys been the one to march to the beat of my own drum & sometimes in this crazy world that we live in you have to! Don't you agree? Ok, maybe not.

It's been quite sometime since I last spoke to you & updating you all on my whereabouts, ups & downs, plus everything in between... I share it all! As of late I have been doing pretty well, trying to stay focus and continue to put out some great material for you guys each & every issue! We are working on some big things as we come into the summer season, which is gearing up to be a really good one. Filled with juicy drama, events, and more drama.... Lol. On a serious note, I absolutely can wait to share my vision with you all once we wrap up our upcoming issues we are working on with the SR Magazine Blog! We got our Spring Fashion Issue coming out next month & our Nightlife & Entertainment Issue [Double Issue.] which will be premiering this summer [TBA.] ----> We can't wait to show you who made the list of the 25 Hottest Couples it's all coming your way, so stay tuned!!

I don't about you, but I am super-thrilled about what's to come this year... So many great things have been happening in the past few months that it can only go up from here. I've learned that the only person that is stopping you from succeeding in life is yourself & that can't go down... Not in my house! Everyday i am blessed to be able to do what i love and be around the positive people who influence me everyday to continue to do what i do --> Let this be a lesson for those who are out there pursuing their dreams and feeling as if they can't go on.... In the words of our great President " YES WE CAN."

In my final note, i want to give a shout out to Angel from QBC [Queer Black Cinema.] for giving me the amazing opportunity of being the new host of the hot new show entitled INSIDE THE Q premiering this summer! All i have to say is stay tuned..... The best is yet to come!

Hate him or love him, T.I. has been at the top of his game ever since his debut into the industry in 2003 but as always after the rise comes the fall, and that he did effortlessly – Some might say. Having much success with his last album Paper Trail & dominating the charts with nine TOP 10 Billboard HOT 100 singles apparently isn’t enough for T.I. – Nope not at all.

On October 13, 2007 just a few hours before his attendance at the BET Hip Hop Awards, federal authorities arrested T.I. & charged him with 2 felonies – possession of THREE unregistered Machine Guns + TWO Silencers, & possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He later posted a 3 million dollar bond, 2 million in cash and 1 million in equity on property that he owns.

Of course after reading this I am pretty sure you were all wondering “HOW IN THE HELL DID HE DO THAT?” – Apparently all that hard worked paid off, seriously! In my opinion, I personally feel that if a fake text is going to get you over the edge and make you want to beat the hell out of this girl that you apparently “LOVE” then that’s not love, that’s abuse! Secondly, if you went that crazy due to that than obviously you got issues dude! Stop cheating, and just confess to what you’ve done. Both of you! Yes, she isn’t that innocent as the tabloids made her although she is the victim. There is a difference people, just wait this story is just unfolding.

Is his career over? What’s next for Rihanna? We can only hope that Chris Brown can survive an incident like this after losing most of his endorsements [which = $$$], record sales, and airplay-- Those questions has remain to be answered. Stay tuned. - EJP.

But there comes a time when it's just too much!! I personally am a big fan not a fanatic but a fan. I just don't see where all of the hype comes from?? Can anyone explain who does she think she is?

Ok , ok i wanna explain that i am not hating but i am writing from a music fan point of view... Like it's just too much! No doubt Beyonce is ahead of the game..... I just think all of her fame she would appreciate it and it doesn't seem like she does.

Apparently roughly 45% of the fans that i asked says her album "I am.... Sasha Fierce" doesn't live up to it's name and my question that follows is... Then what's the hype? ... Let's leave it at that!

Letter From Mr. Socialite
Episode 2: Realizing the truth of just being "Human." & continuing to pursue my dreams.

First and foremost, Happy New Years to all!! I hope everyone has a prosperous 2009! Now, back to reality, i have finally came to an understanding of the year that was. To begin recapping on last year, i would first have to start when i decided to create my own small business entitled [At the time.] NYC Socialites* which is now the NYC Socialites Media. After producing various events and dealing with a new relationship, finding an apartment, family drama, it was just too much to deal with as any normal civilized human-being would say. Thus, i had to just take a step back into reality and take the negativity out and surround myself around some positive people. Luckily, they were right in my face all along.

It's funny how life sends you in so many different paths when you least expect it. I have always been the type of person who gives their all to any project/commitment [ex. friendship, work, etc.] but there comes a time when you just have to stop living for everyone else and start living for yourself. Enjoy what you have and continue to count your blessings, because someone else is going through worse.
I believe that this year will be a prosperous one filled with excitement, happiness, success, and loads of profit! [What i can dream?...Lol.]

We discussed everything from the rise of the show, his views on the community, Tysexxy, and more.... Dj rants on how important the show has been and is to everyone. SR: So how are you DJ?
I Am Fine...thanks

SR: What made you come up with the idea, of having your own radio show? And who is your inspiration?
Well, I always wanted to do radio since I was young and did commercials. I loved speaking into the microphone and touching so many people. My inspirations is the tenacity of Wendy Williams... The Fun and Craziness Of Howard Stern, Hard Interviewing Edge of Travis Smiley, and the smart wit of Scott Shannon...

SR: Do you feel that black LBGT artists, talents, & even the community isn't represented in the right light and if so, then what can we do to change it?
Of course they are not represented, and only when we the LGBT artist, talents, and the community stand up and be counted will that condition ever change. If we could acknowledge our differences with in the community, accept them and now move on together to being recognized by the mass media in a more positive and comprehensive aspect.

SR: Now your show has been at the top of it's game since it's debut 2 years ago, and just recently your show was nominated for a Velocity Magazine award. How does that feel & Who would you thank if you do win?
To win would feel like a win, winning always feels good, and always motivates you to win again and again. To get better year after year. That's the challenge of the show for me, is getting the show to grow, keep it new yet strong in its roots. The people who have gotten the show here are many. Too many to really run off a list. But of course my better half Eric J Parker, my crew Soulgee, RaShawn, TyeSexy, Kimmy, DJ Mini Me and BBOP. There are more... but damn.. can't mention everyone.

SR: I notice that your show it the go-to-show for all the drama in the community, unheard artist, and more but we don't hear enough Tysexy, when is she coming back? Is she going to have her own segment?

TySexy will be back, and as the show grows so will she, we will all grow.

SR: Name someone you would love to interview?
Michael Jackson

SR: Where do you see the show in the next 5 years?
Where it is... on the Internet, but we would have expanded to TV and satellite radio. The show will be a brand... a place with the community and celebrity collide. A place for the community to meet the celebrity... and the celebrity meets the community.

SR: What your goal with Da Doo Dirty Show & have you accomplished that?
The goal is to create a family with Da Doo-Dirty Show... All the listeners look out for each other, the guest look out for other guest, we all know each other and have gotten to know each other... That's why I wanted the interviews to be more like conversation than interviews. I have started to accomplish that... but I have a long way to go... I see Da Doo-Dirty Show being around even after I die... with all new host and the show eve loving with new host and new listeners/family.

SR: You have a very loyal fan base, i actually admire you for your hard work and dedication. What motivates you everyday to be so inspirational with the listeners?
The importance of staying true to your word. Growing up not believing a thing any adult say... living in a world of empty promises, I vowed to myself to do better than that. To do what I say, and if I make a mistake to own up to it. Making a valiant effort to be a better man. If you have taken the time to listen to me and give me a chance then I can get my lazy ass up and do a show. Your work ethic is inclined to show people how serious you are about whatever you want to do with your life.

SR: Now it's no rumor that you are openly HIV Positive and you speak publicly about your status which s very noble & the most humanitarian thing i ever known to date. But don't you feel a bit too open with your life on the line or is that what radio is for?
I believe if you have a medium to express yourself then you should. I know that people are listening,then let me talk to you about what's up with me, I'm not the only one who is going through what I'm going through when it comes to HIV. What kind of person would I be if I didn't share who I really was. I can be proud to be black, I can be proud to be gay. I can be proud be DJ, but not proud to be HIV+? While my ignorance and carelessness lead me to becoming positive, that doesn't make me any better or worse than anyone else. That makes me human. We all have made mistakes, but it's what those mistakes lead us to from there. It lead me to being more conscious about my life, my life decisions, and the life of others. So in that case I feel I've learned, now that's what I'm looking to pass on to others when I talk about my status on the show. That we can learn from our mistakes and move on, go and do what we were put on this earth to do. LIVE!

SR: Lastly, why do think that this election year is so important to you? & Do you think it's time for a change?
This election is important this year more than any other not because Barack is black, but that the black man is Barack. Barack is exactly would I would have loved in a candidate if he was white, or even Latino, gay or otherwise. He is eloquent, clear, concise, and make just as much sense as any good politician can. I know he's a politician but sounding like one is fine, but I need to know I can trust you, I don't trust McCain. Not because he's white, or even republican, but because I don't trust McCain. Obama will win this election,

Last night around 11pm the world changed. When the news hit the airwaves that African American Chicago State Senator Barack Obama (D) has been elected the 44th President of the United States i knew that the world has definitely been awaiting together for the long overdue "Change" that has finally come to America.

Realizing that life will never be the same again and being utterly inspired by the "American Dream" becoming reality and hearing the thousands of New Yorkers screaming and chanting "Obama, Obama, Obama!" i knew that reality was now. For years we all have pondered what would it be like to have a Black President? And if so, can he lead this country to greatness? Yes "He" can. With Delaware State Senator Joe Biden (D) by his side, along with their wife & kids made history by being a dynamic team of a Black & White presidential hopefuls. Years prior Obama's announcing of his run for the white house, we've had numerous African Americans who have made the attempt to take over the Presidential Suite but never can surpass the adversity until now.

Although this election has made history throughout the world including China, Kenya, London, Asia, and more.... At a time when we thought there wasn't any hope for the future, we were assured last night for sure and millions watched 78 million to be exact.

"Because what you did on this day, change has come to America." -- President Elect, Barack Obama.

I believe that Barack Obama can turn this country around and i am most certain that he going to need 2 terms to do so but, after i watched the local news and saw him making decisions and starting his duties as President {Which is ALOT! Economy, Gas Prices, Gay Equality & Marriage, etc etc etc...] quoting the man himself " We have a long way to go." As Michelle Obama stands by his side along with his beautiful kids i now know and believe that you can be anything you want to be as long as you believe that you can.

Letter From Mr. Socialite

Episode 1; Moving forward, Preparing for big things, & looking ahead!

So i start the work week contemplating what's real, who's real, and where is the next step in my career. I came upon some decisions about reinventing myself, coming out with new material, angles, or plans but then i sat down, though about it and realized that i am still here and I've never left. As the company grows day by day i prepare myself for the fight, the fight of the amount of work that needs to get done but as one good friend of mine [Steven Emmanuel, Queer Kid of Color.] once told me " Stop complaining and just do the f**king work!! Mr. CEO!" As i gagged with a big grin on my face and realized that he was indeed, correct.

I have been under the radar lately and focusing on everything that i am working on such as NYC Socialites Media, my clients, & other endeavors including my current 9-5 [not really.] little gig @ Starbucks is stressing the hell out of me!! Long story short, i have resurfaced amongst it all showing my face at most of the important events and connecting with old friends & business acquaintances and through it all still finding myself and proceeding forward as planned.

In my final thought i came to the conclusion that life goes on no matter what, the world doesn't stop because your consumed with work and avoiding phone calls from friends and only answering business calls!! It's called life!! Moving on, tomorrow is the big day, the day we vote for the next president of this great country we live in [It has it's faults but, don't we all?] remember to VOTE!! For those who aren't registered or still haven't voted in ever, screw you! Cause as the saying goes, life goes on!! Trust. Special thanks to my love Mr. Parker-Baker by my side day and night! :-)
